Hello and welcome!
I’m so glad you are here! A little bit about me:
My Work: For many years, I’ve had the honor of walking with people navigating pain, questions, and the complexities of healing. I work as a counseling professor, licensed professional counselor, speaker, and author. My writing focuses on spiritual abuse, crisis, and trauma. And I’m excited about my upcoming book on the topic of anxiety.
I enjoy speaking at churches, retreats, and training events. I’m passionate about helping people see the intersection of their faith and mental health and helping the church engage mental health concerns with compassion and grace.
Life Outside Work: When I’m not working, you’ll find me with my family and friends, engaged in one of my many hobbies, or simply resting and reflecting.
I’m the mom of two grown children and have been married to my husband for over 30 years. My husband and I love to hang out on our front porch, drinking coffee and planning the next project on our Acadian farmhouse or taking walks with our two dogs, Nola and Smokie. I enjoy traveling to explore God’s beautiful creation and trying new coffeeshops and restaurants for inspiration to make my own kitchen creations.
After decades of living in different states, my parents recently moved next door, and you’ll often find me at their house working puzzles with my dad, sharing cookbooks with my mom, or browsing seed catalogs and plotting our next vegetable garden.
I will be expanding this site over the next several months, adding practical resources and blog posts, so I encourage you to bookmark the page to keep up with what’s new.
Thank you for stopping by!
