I’m so glad you are here! My name is Karen, or “Dr. R” as my students often call me. I’m a counseling professor, licensed professional counselor, author, and spiritual abuse researcher. My work revolves around the intersection of mental health and faith.
I’ve seen firsthand the profound impact spiritual abuse can have on individuals and their faith journeys. I have a deep passion for helping those within the church community navigate faith and healing. Whether you’re a survivor of spiritual abuse, a church leader seeking to create a safer community, or someone simply looking to understand more about mental health from a faith-based perspective, this space is created for you.
When I’m not immersed in my work, I cherish spending quality time with my family. We love drinking coffee or tea together, traveling, playing with our two energetic dogs, and tackling renovation projects on our old Acadian farmhouse.
